William 21st July 2021

Good morning little girl. It was another horrible day yesterday, with all sorts of lunatics from the swamp screaming, shouting, jabbering, and screeching, and we had that from around an hour before midday, and it went on for over twelve hours. The heat was horrible, Molly did not know what to do with herself, and I had that new fan on all day to try to keep it cool in here, but it was hopeless, as it just got hotter and hotter. There was supposed to be a thunderstorm, but it did not arrive, though it rained for a few minutes last evening. Those lunatics were still at it late last night, so I had to shove some earplugs in, and close the window when I got on the bed. It was another awful night, and I was awake earlier this morning than I was yesterday. I fed Percy and George, and gave them their usual stuff before I had to get back up here out of the way. I gave Percy another packet of food when I went back down to make some coffee, and when I had made that, up here I had to get again. I had wanted to go to the bank four towns away tomorrow, but I cannot walk there and back in this heat, especially as I would be expected to carry about 20kg of pork back with me that something would have slapped down within a few days. It is going to be bad enough coming back from town tomorrow. I have enough meat to bring back with me as it is, and by the looks of it, there will not be any room for me to get anything for myself, but that does not matter, as long as something else gets a good feed. Even in this horrible heat, the oven was fired up yesterday to cook pasties, all I had was a bit of blue cheese with a few crisps, and I almost choked on that. I do love you Topsy, I love you so much little girl, and I do miss you, I miss you so much you beautiful brave little girl. XXXXX
